At The Center of Blessed Sacrament in Hollywood, CA with Bobby Karle, SJ and Fr. Frank Buckley, SJ
Bobby and Alan Haras, Detroit-based yoga instructor and Ignatian spirituality guide, facilitated a half-day retreat at Sts. Peter and Paul Jesuit Parish in downtown Detroit. Realizing the enthusiasm and interest in the integration of these two traditions – Ignatian spirituality and yoga – Bobby and Alan teamed up to develop a weekend retreat program and co-founded Ignatian Yoga as an organization sponsored by the Midwest Province of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). Ignatian Yoga continued to grow as a collaborative ministry led by Jesuits and lay people formed in both the Ignatian and yoga traditions.
Weekend retreats happen across the US in New York, Ohio, Illinois, Georgia and California.
Ignatian Yoga cancelled five scheduled in-person weekend retreats due to the pandemic and switched to a virtual learning environment.
